My particular HFH is one that did a lot of heavy work for the Finnish Broadcasting Company, Distribution Engineering in years bygone. It was one of the main tools of OM Väinö Lehtoranta, a.k.a. Väiski, OH2LX, whom you can also meet in action back in the good days in the photo below:
-
OM Väiski doing some propagation analysis at the FBC Jokela station eons ago.
Some photos of the HFH in use by OH2LX and (much) later at OH2AUE:
- a photo of the HFH alongside an HP3320B that was used for accurate level calibriation (photo: OH2LX)
- a photo of OM Väiski during some field measurements out there somewhere (photo: OH2LX)
- occasionally I use my HFH inside my shack thanks to the magnetic loops (photo: OH2AUE
- and sometimes I haul the radio outside, weather permitting. (photo: OH2MNI)
- I have also been most fortunate to locate the larger full band loop with vehicle mount, so the HFH will be mobile very soon :-)
- so this larger loop antenna can also be rotated into different positions for DF'ing, FS measurements and interference nulling
- the antenna is rotated from within the mobile radio shack and the angle can be calibrated too
- if you are wondering about the white box, this is an RF/Control interface for diverse antenna experiments
- this bulkhead box sports a WG16 waveguide interface, a set of precision N type connectors, a ruggedized multipin control connector and an intrusion monitor
- a mere Radio Amateur, I am still learning the perfect Tuning Ace RF Stance... (photo: Antti Mannermaa)
- I am desperately searching for two FEMALE connectors to fit the HFH male AC/DC connector - can you help me ?
